An interactive video map, introducing the regional TV presenters

We were tasked with getting under 14s, that were attending a BBC Wales News event to understand the process of creating and editing a TV show.

We created a fun and engaging piece of touchscreen software which had a series of educational tools for the audience to explore, including an AV production suite, an interactive video map and some mini games.

The production suite allowed the users to choose from a series of predefined clips, arrange them onto a layered timeline and compose their very own TV show. Users were able to manipulate the order, crop and duration of the clips and once finished, broadcast their creation onto one of the 52" TV's. The interactive video map let users explore a number of regions and meet their local TV presenters, who explained their role in creating TV shows.

The project turned out to be a great success, the feedback from our client was extremely positive and a particular highlight was watching the under 14s interact with our creation.

We worked in collaboration with our design partners Carbon Studio on this project.
